Strange Lockup Corrupted Map

Something strange just happened. My C510D refused to power up. I was able to get it going by pressing the reset button under the front fascia.

However, once it had gone through a cold startup, I got a message telling me that no maps were found, even though plugging it into my PC made it clear that a map image was there.

In the end, I had to upload a new map image from MapSource. I didnt change any other files (although I had to shunt them to my SD card and back to make room for new image without deleting the old one till I had a backup on my PC). The new image is smaller than the original one. I assume I have not installed as many maps as default, but will this difference conflict with any of the other system files (which Im not going to play around with)?

Anyone had any similar experiences?

I might have a go at copying the original map image back and see if it is still corrupted. Will let you know if I do.
