New Maps - DVD vs. Download

I have a TT One V1 and I am considering purchasing the new version 6.6 map now on offer.

With the exception of the price, currently Euro80 for download and Euro120 for DVD, (and the method of transfer to your device) does anyone know of any differences in the products?

I am a mac user, and have no problems what-so-ever with moving POIs onto my One - Just hook up the usb cable and browse away as if it was removable storage device.

Now I understand that the downloadable maps can be used only with the HOME software - does this work ok on the mac?

Are the maps easier to move manually from the DVD to SD card?

Basically, is there anything I should know before saving some money on the download over having a DVD through the post?
