Locate junction of A roads?

A few days ago, northbound on the A1 near Wetherby, the road signs were displaying the warning "A1 closed at A6136". Try as I might, I haven't been able to figure out how use my Tomtom Go to locate the place where the road was closed so that I could navigate around the closure.

Can anyone suggest how to do this, please?

'fraid not. This is one of the biggest missing features to my mind...
There is a POI file available for Motorway junctions that can help with navigation, but you still can't tell the unit to avoid a POI.

To find a road you usually need to know what town/city it has been filed under, which is pretty impossible most of the time.
If you are coming up to the blocked junction you can do an "avoid roadblock 3 miles", but it is a pretty poor work-round.
