I would be interested to know from those who have signed up, (before I do,) the merits or othwise of TT Traffic ? Does it really work ? Work well ? Any particular pitfalls to be aware of ? Thanks. |

Hi
If you have just bought a new copy of TT6 you should have 1 month free trial. Register and look at Plus. It works but is not always very up to date.

I have been using the month’s free subscription and on many occasions it has been very informative as to the likely delays ahead. But that is where the usefulness ends.
On a recent journey on the M6 south if informed me that there was a 45min delay from junction 13, I decided to do a re-route to avoid delays, especially when a work colleague was following me. Great!!! Off I went on a pleasant detour, skirting Stafford, through Cannock and back onto the M6 toll.
Although on the alternative route I was constantly moving it did seem to take a long time, mainly 30-40 mph built up areas. When I reached the M6 Toll I decided to call my work colleague, who had been following me down the M6 but decided to stay on the M6, I was shocked to find him 15 miles ahead of me. He said although it was busy, 30-40mph, road works rush hour’s traffic etc, he was constantly moving.
After this experience and several others I will not be extending the Traffic Service.
But hey give it a go yourself, for free….
PS It can also be distracting while driving.. _________________ ----------------------------------------

Out of interest, did you tell Traffic to minimise delays or did you tell TomTom to avoid the traffic problems on the M6? |

I used the minimise option after updating the traffic information.
It would be good to see if there is a difference, I will try out next week. _________________ ----------------------------------------

Avoid = Find alternative route
Minimise = Find alternative, but quicker then predicted delay, in my case 45mins.
If you can advise another explanation then please do.
Or if you have used trafic please share your experiences. _________________ ----------------------------------------
