I have been having a problem in the last few weeks with using Tom Tom (version 5) on my Dell Axim PDA.
Basically the problem is that the cursor/pointer displaying my location is not updating as I drive, it may be 30 seconds out. For example once I arrive at a junction the map cursor says I am about 0.25 miles or 30 seconds back from where I actually am. This then also means that the verbal directions don't work accurately.
I have disabled the majority of points of interest to speed it up a bit, other than that all settings I believe are standard.
If I uninstall Tom Tom from my PDA and reinstall it, would this help and if so, would my favourites still be there? Or is it worth resetting my PDA (after syncing) to check its not the PDA?
Any other tips would be hugely appreciated.
Cheers

I would Disable all your POI's.
You can still Navigate to them and if you need to be aware of them use Warn When Near.;) _________________ Richard

Thanks for the info. I still seem to be having problems, do you have some other suggestions I could try?
Many thanks,

Hi, I read on here somewhere about disableing POi's and just having the audible warnings, also, it was sugested, putting the softwear on a "Faster Read" SD card, so it reads the info quicker. I had the same problem, but disableing the visual POi's sorted it for me. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Hi,
I had the same problem. Mine was down to a corrupt POI file. I down loaded the UK Petrol stations from here http://www.tomtomfree.com/POI_collections.htm
Once this file was in the GB maps file then the whole thing ran slower than the royal mail at the weekend, and it did'nt matter if it was enabled / disabled, just being there was enough to cause a major problem
I took ages to find it and several reloads of the tomtom programme but eventually found it.
So if you have recently added a POI then start with that one and work backwards
