wireless connection

Hi ive just purchased a TomTom one, and im trying to get my months free Traffic, i have searched for the device using my nokia 6280 and its found it so the problem isnt there, when the tomtom trys to connect to the phone it goes to 60 percent and the world image just keeps spinning and goes no further, ive checked the website to see if the nokia is compatable and it is. I have a wireless network at home is there any way i can do it through that.
It just trys to connect to the phone then disconnects, oh and im on the 3 network.

Has any one got any ideas.
