I got my TT1 for Xmas and activated the traffic free trial, all was well. I hadnt used my tomtom for a couple of weeks, and decided when I was setting off for a long trip to see if there was any of the trial left.

Went into the traffic menu, turned on the traffic option, and it jumped back to the main navigation screen with the traffic bar down the right as it should have done, and tried connecting to the traffic service. Connected, and came back with "Enter your username and password" so clearly my trial has expired, all well and good, not too bothered and dont want to renew it, so I will just turn off the traffic menu down the right.

How wrong was I, now when I try to get into the traffic settings to press "turn off traffic" it just asks me for my username and password, which clearly I dont have! and as a result, I have the traffic bar down the rigth hand side still which I cannot get rid of for the life of me!

Anyone know how to get shot of it, as although its not too big still annoying with it been there!

When you first activated your trial, you must have entered a username & password. Just re-enter these then you can edit your traffic settings. By the way you should still have some of your trial left, I bought my Tom Tom One just before xmas & my trial lasts till middle of February.

I know this is an old thread but having just searched for this myself obviously I'm not the only one to wonder how to do this.

I've found out by accident: Go to "connect to your phone". It will say it is searching for your phone. Hit cancel. It will as if you want to stay paired with that phone. Hit no.

Hey presto, you've got rid of the traffic bar and cross. Downside if you'll have to connect to your phone again to use plus services, but if you're like me you've done this because you don't want to pay for the subscription, just wanted to see what the trial was like.

Not sure if this is officially the right way, but it works!!!

The other way to do it would be:

Tap to go to menu.
Tap mobile phone
Tap connect to your phone
Tap the Delete button (bottom left)
Select the phone used for traffic data.

It should now have removed the traffic bar.
You will need to redo the phone connection if you want to use the phone, but if this was the only phone then you are prompted to connect to a "new" phone.

Cheers
Paul
