I have just purchased a brand new, sealed in the box TomTom 910. A few of questions if I may.
1. Why should I activate my software ? Daft question maybe but everything appears to be working fine.
2. How do I know if I have the "old" mount or the new one ?
3. I can see that the unit has a 2yr warranty but how do I register it. As I bought it off ebay I have no "real" receipt.? Does activating the software start the warranty countdown.?
Many thanks

1) you dont activate the software. the product code is there in case you buy a upgrade or service for it. activation is not required.
2) this im not sure about...drive about with it in the car and see if it resets/switched itself off...if it does youve got an old mount.
3) you will need proof of purchase to claim anything on the warranty...i suspect an ebay receipt will not be accepted as proof of purchase so your best to check that with the seller. |

1) The Product Code Card is actually a software licence for the originally supplied map.
3) If you buy off ebay you can use your Product Code Card as proof of ownership cos you won't have an official receipt.
AFAIK registering the unit with TT starts the clock ticking re warranty. |
