I have been using TomTom 6 on my PocketPC with no problem until a couple of days ago.

I have quite a lot of third party POIs installed and I wanted to navigate to a supermarket. When I tried to I noticed that TomTom has stopped recognising all the installed POIs. As I scrolled down the list, there were loads starting with A-C and then the hardly any for the rest of the alphabet (except the PocketGPS speed cameras).

When I looked in the directory the POIs are stored in all the POIs I expected to find were there but TomTom is only picking up a small proportion of them.

This used to work but I don't use them very often so it is a few weeks since the last time I tried to.

AFAICT all the POI files have the same permissions and they are all in the same directory (with my UK map).

Does anyone have any idea what has happened to them or any suggestions as to what I could do to get TomTom to recognise them again?

TIA

Quite simple, you have exceeded the number of Custom POI permitted for the vs6 software, count up the number of files in your map folder that have an extension named .ov2
if this is above 100 you need to remove some of the POI files - Mike

You are quite right that is the problem. I thought I had had more than this in the past, but I am probably wrong.

I shall try combining some of the categories.

Thanks for your help.
