Speed camera download to Nuvi 310

I have downloaded the camera database to my Garmin Nuvi 310 but it will not work because 'Windows cannot open this file. To open this file Windows needs to know what programme created it.'

Please can you advise me how to overcome this. I have used Winzip and the unzipped file is located in My Documents.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing.

- Download the camera file to your computer
- Unzip the file using winzip or similar.
- Save the unzipped file in to a dedicated POI folder
- Use POI loader to upload the unzipped camera files to your Nuvi.
- Job done.

The unzipped files should have a .csv extension, and as such can be opened and edited by Windows Excel. If they don't have a .csv extension, then I can only suggest that you may have downloaded the wrong camera file from this forum.

The one I use is found by entering Garmin as your unit, when asked, and then downloading the file that has Nuvi in the description.

Edited to add:- It is probably best if you create a specific POI folder rather than saving the unzipped file in your 'My Documents' folder.

The reason for this is that if you wish to load any other POIs to your Nuvi, they will all need to be stored in the same place, as whenever you use POI loader, it will overwrite any existing POIs that are already on your Nuvi.
