Hello all

I am buying a new car on Saturday and next week I will diping my toe into the GPS waters for the first time.

I have narrowed it down to the TomTom 510 or the TomTom One so why should I spend the extra £50 for the 510? What does it' offer me other than the 4" screen?

Are the traffic updates available for the One? I have a few spare 1gb SD cards so upgrading the 32mb that's shipped with the One is not a problem.

So which should I go for?

Thanks
Stu

I couldn't see the point of a widescreen on a satnav - I can see why you might want a tall screen (to see further ahead on your route), but a widescreen seems a bit pointless to me.

The ONE comes with a 128Mb card, but doesn't allow for software updates (which need more??), so a bigger card is needed.

Not sure why you would want a hands free satnav in a car either ?

Don't forget roads also go horizontally. On occasions in built up areas I've found a widescreen allows a good view of those connecting roads which branch off left and right.

Also by 'hands free' I think it's a reference to Bluetooth phone capability.

Having said that the TT910 I've been using does come with a remote control.
Initially I thought this was a just an unnecessary extra that I would find little use for. However being able to fully control the satnav without having to reach forwards to the windscreen has soon made me change my mind.

Hello all does anyone know where to get the cheapest price for a £510?

My supplier has let me down and I had my heart set on one.

Cheers
