Edit MP3 Playlist on Mio?

Anyone know of a way to edit the Playlist files used on the Mio devices (C510E/C710) on a PC rather than havinh to create and manage the playlists on the device? Unfortunately they do not seem to be standard M3U Playlist files despite the file extension.

Failing that, what are people's recommendations for a replacement MP3 (WMA?) player that I can install on an unlocked C710? Ideally something that runs full screen not as a window.

Sorry, no ifo for you but I thought I'd bump this one back up and ask a question myself.

How the #@£$*!!!! do you create a playlist in the first place? I have tried several times, selecting several songs (no more than 5), adding to playlist go to save and I get a playlist with 35 songs in it!

Has anyone found a way of creating the playlist off device? Or do yo have to unlock the device and load a diffeent mp3 player? Not something I particularly want to do.
