In order to save space can I remove unwanted languages from my new icn530.
I expect this has been asked many times B4 but I can't find the answer on the forum. Confused
Thanks in advance

Yes, I'd like to know the answer to this one too. Also, can unwanted voices e.g. German, Swedish, etc, be removed?

I guess though that when you update the 530 it all gets put back again :x

The desktop software for the earlier Navmans has a menu option to do this. I don't know about the 530 though.

Yes I read that on the Navman website but it does not appear in the 530 desktop. At least I can't find it.

Removing languages was not an option on my ICN520 Smart ST 2005 desktop. I have been able to do this though as follows.

1. Connect to PC and wait for MS Active Sync to start.
2. Choose explore from the Active Sync menus.
3. Choose Storage Card.
4 Choose Navman.
5. Choose Sounds.

The different languages appear as Dat files, each about 1.2MB in size. I deleted all except for UK english male and female. ( I copied them onto my PC hard drive first in case of problems).

On restarting my ICN and checking the language selection screen all the options except UK English were gone, there does not appear to be any adverse effect on any other operations.

Not sure if this will work on the ICN530

It works on the 530 but the file path is different

My Flash Disk\Navman\Lightning\Navman\Sound\

delete all the .dat files except uk_f_5.dat & uk_m_5.dat

Exactly the same result as Terry describes and you recover 32 MB :D
