WM5 phone problem

I have a MIO A701 PDA/GPS/Phone running WM5 and have the following problems :

1. After receiving notification of a missed call and a message left I can dial my voicemail, listen to the message, save or delete then end the call as normal - however the notification stays and also the icon on the top bar remains even after dismissing. The only way to get rid of them is a soft reset

2. I am unable to change the ringtone or ringer type (ie vibrate or ring or both) from the phone settings options - I get a message saying the audio file(wma) is corrupt - by the way the wma file is present and plays fine in media player - the only way I can change the audio file is by editing the registry, haven't sussed how to change the ringer type though. This is not ideal!

Any suggestions would be welcome

1. you're probably just impatient. It will take a little while until the top taskbar is repainting.

2. the easiest way is to use WAV files, and to put them into the \Windows\Rings folder (create one if it doesn't exist). You can then select your sounds for ringtones.
