TomTom on XDA 2

My son has moved to Cyprus and given me his XDA 2 which has TomTom 5 installed.
When I try to start TomTom, I get a message 'No maps found' although they are on the SD card.
I can read the SD card through an external card reader on my PC but when I explore the card in my XDA, the directory appears to be empty.
Any ideas?

All sorted.
I restarted the XDA and it found the SD card immediately.
