Advice wanted!

Hi,

I own a ipaqrx3115 with a serial GPS reciever and tomtom installed. I'm going on holiday and wanted to use the GPS on teh plane and see where I'm flying over (I've checked with the airline and you are allowed!) What software can I use though? I'm preferably after something free!

Welcome to the forum, it depends what you want to see whilst in the aircraft, for software you could try GPSDash have a look HERE , this will display speed, height and heading etc, there is also a world map you can display position on, albeit in limitted detail.
As you intend to use a serial cabled GPS, what are you going power it from? most cabled devices need to be powered from the car cigy socket, whilst at the same time they power the PDA, I don't think this will work without a power source - Mike
