I new to tomtom, I only got a 510 a few days ago so sorry if I'm asking silly questions but will this remove the need to subscribe to traffic from tomtom? And it will still work in the same way? |

Yes in theory, there's a one off cost to purchase the unit and no running costs (GPRS) or annual license.
BUT . . . TMC receives its signals from standard FM transmitions, and reception can be an issue. I have no ideal how good or bad the TomTom TMC receiver, it needs to be good as theres no way of connecting an external antenna. |
