Magellan Roadmate 800 simulator

Could someone tell me what good the simulate trip feature is? I'm planning a 500 mile trip to Fayetteville, TN. It's about a 10 hour drive. If my simulator will "drive" it at 1 1/2 times speed, I don't have time to wait 6 1/2 hours for a simulated trip. Am I missing something about this feature?

Don't know the Magellan but with Tom Tom you can change the speed in the demo mode.

In all honesty its more a marketing gimick, enabling you to show others how the software/ device works including warnings (where applicable of POI) - the TT application re-starts the route after so many miles of driving so you would never get to your destination on a long trip.

It might be useful when looking at a route in or out of a major city, but in practice you would have forgotten the demo by the time you were navigating the route, I only use it to show off the capabilities of the software - Mike
