Shameless newbie question regarding maps!!

hello

i have a garmin street pilot i3... the new version with the pre-loaded UK map on the actual unit with no memory card included. The main reason i bought the unit was because i do a lot of driving when i go to canada regularly. i guess i have to buy a memory card to put the canadian maps on, so here are the shameless questions!!...

1. can you buy memory cards with north american/canadian maps pre-installed?

2. or will i have to buy a blank memory card and download the new maps from somewhere.

3. once i have both the UK (pre-installed) and canadian inside my street pilot i3 how do i choose to use the canadian map rather than the UK pre installed map?

i have done google searches for canadian maps with not much luck so any help would be greatly appreciated...

ok so i have worked out that i am going to buy metroguide canada and then download the maps to a memory card. can anyone now advise me on a UK vendor that sells metroguide canada for a decent price?

If I read the blurb correctly it means you have to ceate the routes on PC first and then download onto the GPS. Is that correct ? Are there any other maps which you can transfer directly onto a flashcard and use as normal ?
