Aplogies if this is elsewhere - done a little search and cannot find it.

I have set up my 910 and am quite happy with it. It said I get speed cameras - I presume I have to download them from somewhere - so here are my questions.
Do I do it via the internet through the home software?
Do I do it via my bluetooth phone?
Will that cost me in phone calls?
Do they update automatically if you have bluetooth?
Is it easy to download them?

Just on another point - if I put the music and photos on the hard drive, will it slow it down when used for naviagation?

Thanks in advance.

Actually, having just read it, I did see this one the other day. As it didn't say 910 I thought it may not be relevent.
Seems a very complicated way of doing things when it is advertised as having safety cameras. Thought it would automatically ahve the cameras on it. Sad
I am not an over techie person so not sure I would follow it through and do it correctly.

The Tom Tom database is virtually self installing, but incomplete. I tried the two side by side, and the PGPS database had everything that Tom Tom had, and some that Tom Tom missed. So I have now deleted the Tom Tom cameras, and stick to the PGPS. It only takes a couple of minutes to download the PGPS compressed file, unzip it and then drag and drop the OV2 files onto my Go 700, so I'm sticking with the better information.

You have also to accept that EVERY camera database is incomplete. The only way this would not be so is if the authorities notified the compiler of every change they were making, the database was updated for every change, and you downloaded the revised database after every change.

PGPS is updated monthly. Last month they say they had 473 additions, 362 changes and 79 deletions. In addition, 70 static sites were notified for the first time. Clearly these changes didn't all happen in the last few minutes before the database was updated, but had occurred up to a month before being available for your satnav. During that time, you would have had no warning at all of the change. So, yes, the PGPS is the best available, but it's by no means infallible.

Be aware if you do use the tomtom 910 camera even theo it tells you that a camera is a head it says the wrong speed. about 60% of the cameras that are round me are report to be 40mph when they are in 30 mph zones. Rolling Eyes

Hi spin36.

That's one of the reasons why we don't use the TT camera database. :D

Mike Alder has authored PocketGPSWorld.com speed camera downloading instructions for the TomTom GO 910.

Find them here.

These are brilliant instructions.
I used them last week and found them so easy to use.
