A friend of mine has a TomTom go 300. But he has corrupted his memory card. I'm not sure what i can do to help, as i have a TomTom One. Can i copy the data on my SD card his memory card? Not sure of compatibility?
Not sure what options there are. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. (and no he hasn't backed up the memory card before hand, which is a shame)
You can't transfer your maps to his GO. Apart from breaching the licence agreement, you may need to activate them. Doing this would link your maps to his GO and prevent you obtaining any discounted upgrades etc. in future.
Best you can do is see what is left on his card by connecting it to a PC. If the map folder is OK and has all the files in it, you can save it to the PC. Then clear the card, reformat it, download the software from the TomTom site (free) and then copy the map back.
Failing that he will have to contact TomTom and get them to re-install. he will need proof of purchase and they also charge a fee. Downloading a new map might be almost as cheap?
If the corruption was causec by putting too much on the card, now would be the time to get a bigger one. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Your friend needs to contact the TomTom help centre, if it is a genuine TomTom version they will be able to replace it, you will most likely have to return the original. _________________ Graham.
