I have just purchased the Alternative Mount Kit for my TomTom ONE. I want to use the gooseneck mount, but unfortunately, I cannot work out how this works - I presume I need to use the docking shoe from the original mount that came with my TomTom ONE in some way?

However, I cannot work out how to tighten the original docking shoe to the mounting plate on the gooseneck mount. There doesn't seem to be anything to screw into, unlike the original mount.

Please could someone who has done this enlighten me?

Many thanks,
Darren.

Some extra info:

The original mount that came with my TomTom ONE has a place for the screw to go into, but the alternative mount plate does not seem to have this.

I'm probably missing something obvious here...

After a bit of thought, I worked out that I needed a 5mm nut for this. Luckily, B&Q sell them in packets of eight (5mm zinc nut, 8 for £1.30).

However, I do find it rather ridiculous that the box doesn't come with a nut, as the product is useless without it!

Ho hum.

I too had this problem TT suppot said to take the nut out of the original mount by pushing something into the hole where the nut was. Having successfully snapped the mounting bracket doing this, it was such a tight fit, TT supplied me with another mount , and a nut as well.

I use the short mount that sticks to the steering wheel cowl so that my TT1 is directly in front of me when I drive , but does not obscure any driving views at all

Anyone noticed that the new TT sucker mount is different to the original one , it is somewhat shorter.
