Globalsat BT308

Does anyone know whether the two problems mentioned in the review of the Globalsat BT308 have now been fixed? If so, is there some distinguishing part number or product code that would help me to ensure that the version that I order has the latest upgrades?? I've tried looking at the manufacturer's web site... but I couldn't find the necessary info.

I'm currently considering getting a Globalsat BT308, iPaq 2210, a 256Mb CF card and TomTom Navigator 2 software.
