any satnav electonic installation guru's here please

..im in the process of trying to make & hard wire a portable satnav (garmin 2720?) harness system into the car.....cos I'd like to get the audio out on the satnav (single channel) to play through the car stereo...instead of the cigar lighter plug in thingie..
..so, iv bought a 12v fm modulator (satnav audio goes into the radio via a series connection by the car aerial)...now my input to the modualtor is a direct feed from the speaker ( 8ohm 4watt jobbie) line out on the satnav...
trouble is Im getting excessive modulation...a bit like signal overload....and im a bit unsure how to attenuate it....

long shot i know...anyone got any idea's ??

try taking the series connection out of the antenna feed and try it with a bit of distance between the stereo and the modulator.
