Hi there !

I have a problem on my TOMTOM GO, when I want to add a POI in my own POI group.

I'm getting a "File Access Error".

I see my own POI group with all the POI's on the map, but I have the problem when I want to add a POI into that group, and I think also when I want to create an additional group (I just have 3 or 4 actually).

I have reloaded my TOMTOM some weeks ago, so could be because of that.

any idea if it could be a permission problem on a directory or ... ?

Many Thanks !

It could be either a Read Only attribute on the Files, or the Lock Slide Switch on the side of the SD Card.

Thanks OldBoy.

i've verified both the POI file and the card.

The POI file is not "Read Only". It is just "Archive"

The SD card is not write protected (I can drag and drop a file from my PC to the TOMTOM).

So ... I have no idea.

I can't add any POI in an existing group, neither add an additional group ?!?!

P.S. : I've also tried saving an itinerary, but I'm also gettin a "FILE ACCESS ERROR".

I've browse my TOMTOM, and noticed almost all the files were "ARCHIVE".

The Archive Bit is not a problem, it just means that the File has been changed/written and is used by Backup Programs. Goes back to the days of DOS. Rolling Eyes

It might pay to do a Full Backup, Format the Card and Restore the Files. If you have a Backup from before the problem try that first.

OK ... I've tried to delete the complete contents of my SD card, but some files in the "Benelux" Map folder can not be deleted.

thjose files are ov2 and associated bmp files, and have a zero size.

When I try to delete those files, they disappear from the view, but then when I go one directory before and come back in the Benelux directory, they are there again !!!

so I guess the directory is corrupted.

May I FORMAT the SD card (in FAT) ?

Please let me know before I break something ...

Yes, Format with FAT. You could have donew that without deleting any files and you wouldn't have had a problem with the zero length files. :x
