Wouldn't mind helping out with some active mobile "Safety Camera" locations in North Wales, so far there are 15 sites that are not on the PocketGPS database and one SIS that alerts as a camera (it isnt) Question is.... is there any 3rd party software I could load onto my i3 to show my location at these sites?

Cheers all

There are two ways that I know of, provided you can be certain of the location of the camera on a map on your computer:
a) pinpoint the position using Google Earth, but note that you will have to convert from minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second into decimal degrees, and reverse the lat/lon values for the i3
b) pointpoint the position using StreetMap, click on the exact location of the camera so the orange arrow points exactly at it, then go down to the bottom of the page where it says "Click here to convert/measure coordinates", and the page which comes up has the Long/Lat coordinates of the tip of the arrow. You probably want them to five decimal places.

Not necessary - GE has an option for specifying decimal/sexadecimal notation 8)

Hi Mark,

Have you tried using Google Maps yet?
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras

Double click to zoom in and centre. Position the exact location of the camera at the centre of the screen (shown by the crosshairs) and press 'Update Co-ordinates.

Well ill be a monkey's uncle, had no joy yesterday with Google maps.... kept showing me co-ordinates that were out in the north sea when they should have been in or around Wrexham. Anyway its working now and they all seem to be showing the correct location of all mobile units in my local area :D

Best whazz them over too you guys now, when the database is updated ill double check to make sure!

Cheers Rob..
