|
|
Fairly new to the forum - have been absorbing all the info - great stuff - thanks to all for making owning an i3 a better experience.
Quick (?) question. I'm a member of English Heritage and want to have their locations as a POI on my i3.
Is this something I can write myself as an excel csv file? DO I need post codes or long lat to write the file?? Is there an idiots guide - or better still a utility for writing them?
Did a search - but found everything on POI's except the answer.
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for all the replies....
Now I feel a fool....I already had them downloaded to my i3....BUT...couldn't find Bolsover castle in there at all - where should I be looking?
Same question on making POI files remains should I wish to make my own - any guides out there?
Many thanks.

where to / food hotels n more / custom points / english heritage /
then search for 'bolsover'
or look in the castles poi in the custom points. it only shows the nearest 50 or so in the list unless you actually start to input some text then it will filter them for whatever you put in.

MaFt - thanks for the reply (and the POIs!), looks like I made a cock-up when I added the speed camera's - no English Heritage there - will overwrite with everything.
cheers. |

Talking about Castles, are any of them in the right place. I checked the position of two I know about (Dunstanburgh and Tynemouth) and they appear to be way off. Neither one is shown on the coast and I think Tynemouth appears to be in a residential street IIRC. |

erm... anyone else want to either confirm or deny this? i presume that the co-ords generally take you to the car park rather than to the actual castle itself... i'll check the 1 near me...
...which appears to be spot on - skipton castle.

Different POI file but Cotswold Wildlife Park in the Zoos CSV is actually a riding school in a lane around the back of the park, the visitor entrance is about a good .75 mile away by road. SWMBO saw this as yet another reason to deride the i3 as a useless gadget. _________________ Chas
