The MIO 168 is the one officially available in the UK. The RS is not. If you get an RS in the UK, it is I believe a 'grey import'
The MIO168 RS comes with Windows mobile 2003 second edition, while the MIO168 still runs on Windows mobile 2003 (first edition).
All the MIO168's I have seen in the UK are Silver, while the 168RS's were a darker metalic grey.
A freind who had the RS version, had to return it under warranty, which was honoured in this country - but it was returned as the standard 168, not the RS version.
There may be other differences. |

Thanks,
I'm in Canada and it's mostly RS's for sale but the odd internet store has non-RS's The SE operating system allows for portrait mode so that might be worth it there.
The best deal is at newegg.com for a navman pin with SmartSt 2005 but they won't ship to Canada |

I think that it is very much the case that while our 'Grey Import' is the 168RS, yours is the '168'.
I think it so unfair that we don't have the updated version (or even an update path) - Rip of Britain yet again! |

Don't feel so bad, in Canada we've got a choice between Garmin PDAs at $700CDN, or Navman 570's for $600 or Mio 168s with the original destinator v1 software (2003 maps?) for $500.
Copilot, TT5, Oncourse only sell as software no bundles with PDA.
$500CDN = 230-240 pounds.
Whereas in the states you can get a Pin 100 with the latest software for <$300 USD (160 pounds). |
