Help Toshiba E750 & Bluetooth gps

I have a toshiba e750 bluetooth pda and what I believe is a globalsat bt77 bluetooth gps. In bluetooth settings I can see the reciever under the remote device tab I can click on and update service after inputting the pin, it says discoveed and this then puts it in the bottom box under the sevice name tab I have tried clicking on to register connection an it says that it will assign reciever to com6 but the status tab always says not connected and I cannot use reciever (pda can interact with my phone and gps has been connected to pc via bluetooth dongle so both are working just not with each other)
