Hi all..a friend of mine has an ipaq rz 1710 bundle and the earth cable has become detached from the rj11 plug that is located on the end of the wired gps receiver..this has obviously stopped the receiver from functioning..i was wondering is it possible to change these plugs yourself or would it be a repair shop jobbie...any help is appreciated..thanx..

Why dont they all use the PS2 connector which is far more robust than the pathetic RJ11. Probably down to cost.

Probably because the rj11 locks into position. Having seen some ps2 connectors mutilated im not so sure its more robust.

Cheers
