|
|
Has anyone else seen this:
My StreetPilot 2720 is alerting me to speed cameras at 6mph below the limit.
For example, a 30mph camera gives an alert if I am going at 24mph or above; a 50mph camera at 44mph and a 70mph camera at 64mph.
This has only happened since I updated the unit's software from v4.20 to v4.40, before that it only alerted when I was travelling above the camera's limit.
I have since updated the software to v4.50 and the problem persists.
I have also downloaded the latest POIs (from this site), still to no avail.
Anyone any ideas? |

The 2720 can be set to always warn of speed cameras whatever speed your doing .this is normally by a bing bong and then if you are above the camera speed then it bings continuously until you are under the speed or past the camera. Are you getting different than this
mine is running 4.5

No, it won't bing at all if I'm 7 mph under the limit or slower, so it's not set to warn regardless of speed. |

If you go to settings, general, proximty alerts, contiuous alerts and set for speed camera that should do it
If not perhaps the download of the latest software upgrade didnt go well so it might be worth downloading it again

Are you saying that I should have "Continuous Notification" set as "Speed Alerts Only"?
I only want to be notified if I'm over the speed limit.
Thanks for your help. |

Sorry I thought you was complaining of it only notifying you if you were close to the limit
I have mine set to always warn me as I use it on the bike and it is sooo easy to just open the throttle a fraction and fly through one at far too fast a speed so I would rather be warned of every one.
But the 2720 is such a good unit I am pleased that I got mine.

And have you worked out why it sometimes gives one bing, and sometimes two? |

As I approach a camera it always gives a bing bong
If I am below the limit it does nothing else
If I am above the limit it bings continuously until I am below the limit then it goes quiet
To my mind that is perfect as it lets me know when there is a camera around and also I know then if I am over the limit or under
