You may have been using the old "modified data.chk" method, which is no longer used.
THIS POST explains all, and has instructions on what to do now.
The compilation of all the various voice warning sets are HERE

There is no specific alert for a monitron. As there are so many different manufacturers now producing cameras (in fact Monitron are now officially owned by "Red-speed") it would get silly producing different voice files for them all.
As they are all placed in the same POI category or categories (along with Gatsos, and Truvelos) the TomTom isn't capable of triggering a different alert sound/voice for the individual types anyway.

thank you andy for your post.

i have followed the instuctions ,but i cannot get the voices to work.

its the term root directory that is throwing me i think.

on my original navigator 5 sd card the data.chk with a value of 1090kb is a stand alone file on the card.
i copied the card on a sd mini for my pda,and at some point in the past ifollowed the instructions and got the voices to work without a problem.
i remember using explorer to rename the data.chk file in some way.but the instuctions this time have changed if im not mistaken,do i delete the orignal data.chk file and just replace it with the voice package? and then call the package data.chk? is it that simple.?

thanks,
malcolm

Forget the data.chk method it is old hat and there are more options available to you these days.

For a start leave the data.chk file alone on your device and go to the ogg download page Andy linked to, download a set of ogg files that correspond to your speed camera database installation (single file, consolidated or speed zoned in the voice of your choice), the ogg files go into the map folder in the same way as the POI files, then simply configure each of the warnings again - you have to re-configure the warnings to "teach" the software the ogg files are present, it will pick them up and use them automaticaly, see This Page for info (which Andy linked to above, just thought I would mention it again)

If you follow the above you should not need the root directory as all the necessary files go into specific folders, but for information the root is the highest level you can see on the drive, so using Windows Explorer to view the memory card it is the first level you see when you open the folder named SD Card or Storage Card depending upon the actual device - Mike
