CPU on TomTom ONE

Hi guys,

I got a question. As you probably know, if you take off your SD card then turn on your TomTom ONE (and GO I assume) and keep the button pressed, then you'll get all kinds of statistics. The CPU speed is in there too.

Well, on my ONE it says 288Mhz Confused

If I am not mistaken it should have a 380Mhz CPU. Any idea what's happening ? Stats are wrong on that screen ? Something else ? Anyone else can check on their TomTom ONE ?

Hmmm....

Not sure its says it has a 380mhz cpu

So why do we see 288 Mhz ? Defective units ? Variable speed CPU ?

mine says 288 MHz as well...

Do you think a message to TomTom support will do any good ?

Quite possible that the CPU voltage is lowered when the CPU is idle.

For comparison my PC's AMD 64 3700+ runs at over 2GHz but when it is idle it runs at a lower voltage and around 900MHz, therefore less heat and less cooling fan noise required! AMD CnQ (Cool n Quiet)

Athough only TT could confirm this.
