I don’t know the hx2790, is it a newish model? The hx2790 isn’t on the TomTom list of compatible PDAs, but that doesn’t mean that your combination will not work! ;)
What (Bluetooth?) GPS receiver have you got?
What version of TomTom Navigator are you running (5.00 or 5.10)?
Have you paired the iPAQ and the Bluetooth receiver together?
In TomTom have you configured the GPS receiver as:
Other cable GPS
38400
COM8
The last bit is from memory so may need a tweak! ;)

Hi Robert,
Thanks for you reply.
Yes the HP ipaq hx2790 is the next model up from the HP ipaq hx2750.
My PDA is running MS Windows Mobile 5.
The Bluetooth receiver I got is the one that came with the TomTom 128mb SD package, tomtom BT GPS Receiver MKII with SiRFStar III chipset. The tomtom navigator version is 5.10.
I have not paired them yet as am away from home until tomorrow.
Am just trying to find out if all I was told was true!!
Thanks for the welcome!!! |

Hi Richard,
I have paired the ipaq and receiver, and seem to work!!
I set a route and travelled the route and it did work.
I did'nt set anything up to do with bluetooth. It did itself.
If i need to configure the bluetooth receiver in TomTom,
How do I do this?
I have a problem with the Activesync 4 to pair my laptop to thr ipaq.
Just comes up as connecting and that all, does not do anything else.
Can you help please??
Best Regards
Jitesh |

If its running WM2005 then have a read through this link, http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=28171
Pay attention to the posting I put in there that will lead you to another site for info, before you do all this go to Settings, connections and is there a GPS icon visable? - if not follow the links they will explain how to get it - Mike |
