Looking at some posts I see that it is recommended not to let the Mio run completely out of juice so if I want to keep my battery in the best possible state can you just tell me this.

If I use it when I'm out on my bike it often gets down to 15-25% charge before I get home & recharge it or use my battery extender.

Most of the time it goes down to about 60-70% before I recharge at home.

Looking at the above usage am I making the battery life shorter using it as I do ?.

Cheers

To worry that how you are doing (as in using the device) may be damaging your battery, is a bit like worrying about driving a car and wearing the tyres out!

Yes there may be optimal ways to treat a battery, and yes they MAY make a small diferrence to its life, but the product was bought to use, and use it you should. If that means that sometimes it is used at diferrent levels of charge/discharge that's life.

From what I understand, it is the allowing it to completely discharge and leaving it in that state which causes the biggest (and avoidable) problem. Rather than small changes to a batteries life; you can reduce it from years to months.

Thanks

I never worry about the tyres on my car as I always make sure it's on the trailer everytime I drive it Smile.

I guess I have always been told to run batterys down to avoid the memory effect, memory effect, memory effect, sorry did I just say that I forget, but I now understand this only applies to Ni Cads.

Thanks for help
