Tom Tom: Importing & exporting maps, etc.

Does anybody know about, or can anybody point me towards information about, using maps from other sources with Tom Tom Mobile 5? In particular, maps for other versions of Tom Tom? I'd expect to sacrifice voice navigation, but I'd like to know where I was on a road map. Also any information on interchanging waypoints/POI etc. with other systems.

I may particularly require maps pf parts of Australia - is there anything ready-made and at reasonable price?

Just got my hands on a Navigator 5 map of Australia that I think might be an extraction from a TomTom GO unit, and it works fine with my mobile 5, havn't used poi's yet, but guessing as long as you replace the poi warning sounds with mobile 5 ones even they might work.... (mind, this was only done to test if it actually worked, and it did)
