New parts still no joy

hi can anybody help? i have been having trouble with my wired tom tom 3 nav sat kit since i brought it, global poisitioning systems have swopped the power cable and gps unit for me but still no joy, the pda went back to toshiba who checked it out and said the service board was faulty so they put in a new part> before it went it only showed com 2,3,usb ir in gps status after repair it now shows com 3,4,usb ,ir. it has no com 1, 2,bluetooth listed. incoming beams are unchecked, does anybody know if the tt3 software could be faulty ( 2 discs org and update). i think it may be the pda, any help would be great.
