Hi everyone,

I'm stuck. I am looking at buying either a NavMan iCN520 or a TomTom GO 300. From reviews I have read, it appears that some prefer the NavMan and others prefer the TomTom.

I personally would prefer the NavMan due to the size of the unit - very "rucksackable", as opposed to the TomTom which seems to be pretty bulky. However, I see that the TomTom has a big, clear speaker on it and the NavMan is supposed to be fairly hard to hear over music/open windows. They're both pretty evenly matched, from what I can see.

What does everyone else think? Is there any real advantage of one over the other?

I would be grateful for any advice or experiences anyone has to offer.

Thanks!

CobraDMX

PS - I have been wondering something, and I'm loathed to open a new thread about it. Is it possible with either system to "bookmark" a certain GPS location, then navigate back to it? For example, you could bookmark your car in a city where you parked and then get lost knowing that you can always get your sat nav unit out and find it again.

I'm biased in my choice, so I won't comment further.

To your query above. On both units there are facilities to record a position.

Specifically on the TT, Browse Map > Find GPS Position > Add as POI (or Favourite).

I have used both units and i would say that TomTom are more common name and alot of customers are going down the tomtom road now. The ICN i cant really comment on the speaker as i use headphones on my motorbike Laughing would never hear the sound other wise. i would say that both do a very simular job and if the size is a big part for you then go for the Navman, contacting Navman support is very easy and not along time on hold (i have found).
