Having been dissapointed with what TT have left out of TT5 especialy the facility to use a Latitude and longitude as a point to navigate to, I am looking to change to Copilot but have a few questions which the experts out there may be able to answer.
1 Can you put in latitude and longitude coordinates and have that point displayed on the map.
2 Can you put lat & lon coordinates direct into an Itiniary as a position.
3 Can you place the stylus on a point on the map and have that point placed direct into an Itiniary.
All the above could be done in TT3 but not in TT5.
Hope you can help.
Doug

Hi Doug
My free utility OS GPS Convertor lets you enter positions in lat & long or OS grid reference formats, and then put them into a POI or an itinerary for use in TomTom 3 or 5. It may solve some of your issues with TomTom. It doesn't work with CoPilot.
If you're interested, please read about it here:

From memory you can certainly do 1 and 3, and I think also 2, but not sure about that one.

I used CoPilot 5 for a few months but then switched to TT5. I found the user interface on CoPilot was excellent as far as you telling it what you wanted, but not nearly so good for it directing you how to get somewhere. I especially did not like its preference for using longer motorway/A-road routes when there were quicker more direct routes available. It was also pretty useless on long trans-European motorway drives, e.g. enter motorway, then "in 285 miles turn left" and no subsequent directions when the motorway forked! I would usually follow what appeared to be the main fork, but usually seemed to guess incorrectly.

Yes, why not try Barry's utility with TT5. It works very well.

Thanks to Kartracer for you comments, which is making me think.
Thanks to Barryd, I have looked at your utility and will give it a go when I get back to my own computer on Saturday. Although I must express nervousness at installing it as I do not usually mess with settings, I just load the application and maps and expect them to work. Which is why I was dissapointed with TT 5, I loved TT3because I could plan routes where I wanted to go, not where it wanted to take me, and as a motorcaravanner thats important.
