Generated device codes?

The device code is a serial number within the chip and accessed via the operating system, each Pocket PC running Pocket PC 2002 has a unique code. This was to combat software piracy and was something implemented in Pocket PC 2002. Now if you're running it on older systems, I suspect what TomTom are doing is rather than giving you one code which is generated by an algorithm from the processor serial number, I suspect they're detecting no serial number so they're then generating a key which is time generated, eg algorithm on current date and time then generates an activation key. I suspect each time you run it, it generates a new key, so I would think (and I may be wrong) that you'll need to get TomTom to issue a key whilst you have it on screen (a real PITA knowing how long it sometimes take TomTom Support to respond).

I'm using 2.22 on my Axim and no problems so far (touch wood)
