Active synch always on

I have just purchased a cradle for my 168. As soon as the unit is placed in, active synch kicks in and makes a connection to my pda. Fine, but I do not want the screen of my pda on all the time it is in the cradle, so I switch it off. 10 minutes later active synch kicks in again, etc.

To get around it, I un synched the system, then in Tools/ options/ Schedule I have set the system to synch manually. This makes it a pain in the derriere to be unable to place the unit in the cradle and for it to synch, then to just switch it off and allow to charge. I am also unable to find how to manually un synch it other than by switching the unit off, is there another way? I am using 3.7.1

If you don't want the Mio to start up when you dock with the cradle then just untick "Turn on when USB connects" in settings.

Yes, i've found that setting now. What I really want it to do though is to synch up when first put in the cradle but to stay off after I turn the Mio screen off rather than to keep connecting.

There is a setting in Activesync which allows you to connect all the time when the Mio is connected or dissconnect after activesync has run once.

That option is greyed out for me. I am currently using it "as and when" by ticking/ unticking the connect via usb option.
