Hi - I've just ordered a TT5 Bluetooth kit to go with my HX4700. I am thinking of getting a Brodit pass through mount. Can anybody tell me whether a cable is available from Brodit or elsewhere which would charge both the Ipaq and the B/T reciever at the same time. Is this available with a TT mounting kit?
Thx.

What's your logic for a passthru mount? With a bluetooth receiver, why would you need a passthru mount? You only need an active mount to charge your iPaq.

Save your cash and buy a cig-lighter socket splitter/multiple extension to plug your BT receiver charger lead.

being a bit slow here - Embarassed - logic for pass through is to be able to charge the ipaq. From your post it seems that an "active mount" is less expensive?

Also splitter at the cig ligher socket doesn't work well in my particular set up (I've tried that in past when running DVD and screen) it seems that the splitter plus two cig lighter plugs ends up as an unstable tower which loses a good connection every time someone brushes the cables. Therefore was looking for a one cable splitting into two leads sort of solution. ...

A "passthru" mount allows the gps signals to pass through the mount by cable. It will also charge the PDA as well. If you have a bluetooth receiver the gps signals are wireless and so does not pass through the mount.

These mounts are designed to be "plug and go" - i.e. you just mount your PDA in the holder and away you go. No messing about with plugging in the adapter at the end of cables to the sync port of your PDA.

You only need a mount with a charging circuit built in for the PDA. With regard to the BT receiver, do you have to have it powered/recharging all of the time? I know of instance where folk have plugged the BT receiver in the cig-lighter socket in the boot.
