Why buy a city map?

Gien that my TTG500 comes with maps that include my home city of Cambridge, could someone tell me if there is any additional benefit in buying a city map of Cambridge from the TomTom site?

Does it have more detail and POI's than the standard UK map? Are city maps main use for getting details of a city I don't have in my map - say Paris for example?

Citymaps are for vacationers that don't want to spend money on the complete country map. They have no additional information.
