Leadtek 9553

I am looking into buying a Leadtek 9553. I can buy one for about £100 off ebuyer from a local supplier. Anybody know if this unit is OK or if it has any known problems. My main concern about it is the battery life which is quoted as being only 3 hours but I think Leadtek may have upgraded to a larger battery. If anybody has any information on this or any other info on the 9553 I would be very grateful.

Hi Ahardie,

This is a great unit, SiRF Star III and a sexy, sleek design. The main reason the battery life is so short is because the GPS is so small. One of the problems with making things so tiny!! The battery is removable so if Leadtek do produce a larger capacity battery then you could easily upgrade to it.
