Holux 270Ultra CF GPS: About to give up on this thing!

I have a Dell Axim x50v running the latest ROM with WM5. Let me be brief:

- GPS Viewer 'Cannot Acess COM port' if you 'scan' then try to open the port it found the GPS unit on. You have to take it out, then replace it, then choose the port, it can get a fix then after ~5min from cold.

- I have yet to find *any* software that works with this. TomTom: nope, GPS Tuner: nope, Pocket Earth: nope. Seeing as how TomTom alone costs more than the unit; this is frustrating.

I have really looked at a lot of forums and complaints and it just makes me regret ever purchasing this GPS unit. So many people have an issue with this. Dell says it's Holux, Holux says it works fine; some people blame WM5 not playing nicely with CF cards... I don't know what the issue is, but I am sick of buying more and more GPS 'aware' PPC software to try and find something that finally works with this unit.

And I understand that the unit works with some PPCs fine. But the Haicom, Sys on CF and other units work fine with Dell devices; what is Holux doing that they are not?

try setting it up with TT but remove the GPS viewer application from the PDA first.
