Find using map

Whenever I try to find a via point by using the map page it starts by showing the map zoomed out to a very large area. I then have to press Zoom In maybe five or six times to get it to show the area of map I actually wanted to see.

Is there a way to make it always show a set zoom level when I do that? A couple of miles around the last location I looked at would be about right.

This is normal behavior in all Garmin receivers, so I guess we have to live with it.
