|

Hi,
I'm trying to get TT5 v5.0 to see my bluetooth gps receiver. I've read on other postings about selecting 'other cable nmea gps' and setting the baud rate to 9600, but then they say select com8 or com5. TT5 only offers me Com1. Is this a feature of TT5.1 or am I doing it wrong?
I've checked the pairing and correct operation with gpsinfo on the pda and it works fine. Any suggestions please?
another separate problem seems to be that the bluetooth device isn't automatically paired when it turns on - is this a microsoft 'feature'?
My pda is a Tosh e740 running windows 2002. The GPS is a Qstarz job.
Thanks

This has nothing to do with pairing (pairing is a security handshake, and not required for most GPS receivers).
What you need to do is to subscribe to the service that the GPS is offering. You will also need to check the bluetooth manager and make sure that the "Serial Port" service is enabled, at least for the outgoing port. Only then will it appear in TomTom's list. _________________ Lutz

thanks for the clarification Libendlin.
Everything seems OK with the bluetooth pairing, upto the serial port part. It shows that SPP slave is connected to the serial port, but I'm not offered anything more in TT5. If I pick 'other NMEA wired GPS', I find if I pick option SD Bluetooth it recognises the GPS receiver. So I guess that's problem solved (but not explained).
Regards
