Navman 3000, Ipaq 3970 and Tom Tom Navigator 3

A GPS newbie here now that I have a problem I need help with.

My Ipaq lost all battery power and a full charge was required. Since then, I have been unable to get a GPS fix with Tom Tom Navigator 3 using a Navman 3000 jacket.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled SmartPath Trip with its own GPS support, as this is what the Navman was supplied with. I have installed and uninstalled Tom Tom Navigator in both ROM and on the SD card. I have applied the Compaq SD fix and the ROM Upgrade. I have installed the Navman 3.1.6 update to resolve the OPTSCANBUS failed message (which still appears sometimes) and I have tried GPS Info and WinFast Navigator to help, but to no avail. I get between 8-10 satellites every time, but never a fix in Tom Tom.

Have I missed something glaringly obvious !!

Any help would be appreciated.

You may have to reprogram the jacket so it starts sending RMC again . Can you post a bit of your NMEA output?
