Please be patient with me as i'm new to the TomTom

Just this week, i have got a TTG300, it's been updated to the latest version, camera databases added and also voice warnings.

As a result of playing around with the TT , i am not sure if the correct Noises are linked to the correct POI for the Cameras. e.g a 30 mph camera comes a different voice warning than 30 mph camera. Is there a list of how they should be set ?

Also in Wiltshire we have mobile cameras on motorway bridges, but before you get a warning it's too late, anyone know what the recommend warning should be or is it personal preference?

Hope someone can help and sorry for sounding so thick!

The voices can be changed around in the Maintain POI/Warn When Near menu.

This has a list of warnings.

These can also be changed in the Warn When Near menu. It's as well to have the Mobile yards set fairly high because from an overhead bridge the camera has got a long range.

Having said that it's a personal thing. How often do you want a false warning from a camera that's not on your road.

Mobile laser guns are rumoured to have a range of half a mile.

Luke, unless I've got the wrong end of the stick; from what you say in your last post, you don't have the individual speed zone camera files!

The actual files you download and copy to your Tomtom card should be called
"pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2",
"pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp",
"pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2" and
"pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2"
for 20mph cameras
and .....30, 40, 50, 60, 70 etc. for the other speeds.
They are in a folder called "speed zoned" in the download package.

Then you can match the different sounds to each category.

Mobile laser units will work accurately up to 1,000 metres, although they normally zap you at a much closer distance.

I have my fixed camera alerts set to 400 metres. I have my mobile alerts set to 1,000 metres, which is 1,093 yards, or 0.621 miles i.e. over half a mile!

Regards,
