GM-270 CF card disassembly

Following the theft of my Medion PDA/GPS, I'm bringing back into use my Toshiba E740 PDA + Holux GM-270 CF GPS.

However, I need to use the external aerial to receive enough satellites to get a 'lock'.

The problem is that I need to hold the aerial connector at the CF card end in a certain position for the signal to be acceptable.

If I let go, the signal disappears - so I suspect a 'dry' joint on the connector on the card.

So my question is - How easily does the front cover come off the top part of the card ?
And is that the best way to allow access to the solder connections for the aerial connector ?

I can feel that the very top edge is not glued or welded, but I think the sides MAY be.

I obviously don't want to risk damaging the unit for what should be a simple repair.

The soldering itself holds no terror for me - I've been building and repairing electronic devices (including some with surface mount components) for many years.

Does anyone have any tips ?
